April White received her Bachelor of Science degree in Geology
from the University of British Columbia.
She has worked as a geologist in remote areas of the Canadian west, an
experience which has been of assistance in developing the visual faculty
essential to her painting.
Entirely self-taught, her natural inclination to paint stems from a heritage
in which art is a cultural tradition. April White was born in the Queen
Charlotte Islands, and, through her father, is a direct descendant to the
renowned Haida artist Charles Edenshaw, of the Eagle Clan.
"Innovation and adaptation have always been part of the Haida
culture.
I use what I can to reveal those qualities."
Below is a mosaic of April's work, featuring her Lithographs, Watercoloured Serigraphs, Hand-Pulled Serigraphs, and Watercolour Originals, including three peices new for 1998. Clicking on any image will display a larger picture with description, or you can skip the wait and take a tour...
Hand-Signed Art Cards are available for each of these peices, at a cost of $5 cdn including shipping.
